Last Wednesday, a sniper shot 5 people in Bowie, Maryland. The people were all in different parts of the city.
On Monday, a sniper shot a young man who was 13 years old.
The five people shot Wednesday were all killed. The sniper was on the prowl for 16 hours, and the last person killed was killed on Friday morning.
Later that night, a sniper shot somebody else dead, but this was in Washington, D.C. The next day, a sniper was shot and wounded in Fredericksburg, Va.
Police are offering $240,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the sleazeball.
They believe there is just one sleazeball because forensics tests prove all the bullets -- .223-caliber -- were the same. But they still don't know if they were all fired from the same rifle. And all the people were shot from a relatively long difference.
Investigators have received 1,600 tips and leads that they say are credible, and many more that they haven't been able to confirm.
One of their leads was just found Wednesday afternoon. It was a Tarot card, and it had a message. The message read: "Dear Policeman: I am God"
But this is an unconfirmed lead. It may have been left by a prankster, authorities said. The card was found near the middle school in Bowie where that little kid was shot.
The card was taken to an FBI lab where it will be analyzed. The tests will include DNA, fingerprinting, handwriting, and spelling.
The card they found represents death in the fortune-telling deck.
The police chief was P.O.d that this information made it to the media. "It is inappropriate to comment on this card," he said. "There are a lot of things that have the potential to hurt the investigation."
The White House called the incidents "traumatic" and "scary."
